BCHS is located about 30 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, PA and is the only shelter serving the animals and 167,500 people living in Beaver County and contiguous parts of surrounding counties. Since its founding in 1950, BCHS has grown to meet the needs of the community. BCHS moved to its new home in 2013, a newly constructed, modern, high quality, larger shelter centrally located on seven wooded acres. This appealing building and comprehensive offering of animal-centered solutions has increased public awareness and community good will. In summary, if it has to do with animals, BCHS is involved. BCHS has attained a Charity Navigator 4 Star Rating for demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency
