The Emporia Animal Shelter is solely ran by the Humane Society of the Flint Hills in contract with the City of Emporia. We are within the no kill shelter percentile and have been below 50 euthanasias annually for the last 7+ years. These are only due to court ordered/aggression or vet suggested/quality of life situations, as we do our best to find forever homes for all. Normal Hours will be 9-3 After 7/6/22 for Wed-Sun. We have a look book for our dogs, and currently do not let the public walk through our kennels. Please call ahead to make sure we are open & able to accommodate you. We are a no surrender shelter & ask that strays are posted on local lost & found FB pages prior to calling about vacancy. Help us, help them! #adoptdontshop
