The Walsenburg Animal Shelter is a PACFA Licensed municipal impound facility that serves to support the Animal Control Division of the Walsenburg Police Department. Its primary function is to provide temporary housing for dogs brought in by the Animal Control Officer or law enforcement. With a euthanasia rate of well under 10%, the Walsenburg Animal Shelter is considered a “No-Kill” facility.
