The Humane Society of Fremont County is an independent, private, non-profit agency. We are an open-admission animal shelter providing animal-services. We are not a division of the Fremont County government or the city of Cañon City, nor are we operated by funding from the National Humane Society of the United States. We are an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) corporation governed by a board of directors. We have been dedicated to ending animal homelessness and providing care and comfort for companion animals in need. Our adoption programs, affordable veterinary services, community outreach efforts and volunteer opportunities are essential to the health and well-being of every animal across Fremont and Custer County, Colorado.
