Animals are given preventive vaccinations, including rabies, and are treated for fleas and heartworms. The Mobile County Animal Shelter needs and welcomes volunteers and donations of pet toys and beds. The Mobile County Animal Shelter is one service of the Animal Control department, which is responsible for animal welfare and enforcing state animal laws in the County’s unincorporated areas.
